Canada Prenatal Nutrition Program

The CPNP is a federally funded program, delivered through the Liard Basin Task Force.  It is designed to help local community groups and organizations address the needs of low income women.

The program provides funds for comprehensive programs that include food and vitamin supplements, nutrition education, support, interagency referral and education on lifestyle issues including family violence and stress.

The objective of the program is to enable communities to develop or enhance comprehensive programs to improve the health of pregnant women and mothers up to 6 months – 1 year after the birth of the baby.  The ultimate goal is to achieve healthy pregnancy outcomes.
